The Equine Medicine Student Club at the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine were generous enough to teach a couple of pre-veterinary medicine students about the basic handling practices when dealing with a horse. The students learned how to approach horse in pasture and apply basic horse behavior when putting on a hatler. Moreover, students learned about the importance of daily grooming and the critical steps in performing a thorough physical exam. Finally, members had the amazing opportunity to trot a horse and participate in a lameness exam. We would like to thank the Equine Medicine Club, Margot Daly, Nicole Anne San Jose of the UCD Equestrian Center, and the veterinary students.
