INternships
The UC Davis Vet Aide Club (VAC) works in partnership with the UCD Vet Med Teaching Hospital (VMTH) to provide an organized structure for over 60 internships each quarter. These VAC internships provide club members with opportunities to interact with staff and current veterinary students at the VMTH. Vet Aides provide excellent assistance at their VMTH internships while learning skills for their future success. Qualities expected in a Vet Aide intern include patience, enthusiasm, participation, responsibility, and initiative to provide maximum benefit to both student and staff.
Aspiring Vet Aide interns can gain a working knowledge of the different areas of the VMTH and an insight into what it's like to be a DVM student at UC Davis (or other graduate schools). Vet aide interns have the opportunity to develop knowledge and experience often used as a stepping stone toward future internships, jobs, or as experience hours sometimes required for vet school admission.
